Eliminating Childhood Dental Disease: The Power is in Our Hands

Escrito por: Steven Brown, DMD

When TeethFirst! reached out to me to write this post, I responded with an enthusiastic “yes!” because I feel very deeply invested in improving children’s oral health. In fact, I support the overall goal of encouraging age one dental visits because as an oral surgeon, I’ve seen too many youngsters coming to me in need of surgery for disease that could have been prevented if a dentist had only been involved in the child’s care sooner. This growing number of young patients has prompted me to reach out to you now.

My Baby’s First Dental Visit: A Mom’s Story

Escrito por: Angie, Gabriella's Mom

Before my baby Gabriella got her first few teeth when she was seven months old, I took care of her gums by wiping them with a soft cloth after every feeding. Her first three teeth came in all at once—it was a hard time for everyone! I brushed them with a special toothbrush and toothpaste made just for babies. I thought that was all the care her mouth would need until she was older and had more teeth.
